Who is this program for?

Digital business needs people who can read a market and judge a technology, then bring a team together around a new idea. In our MBA, you practice all of it in one program.

It’s built for professionals with a first degree and work experience. You might already work in product management, innovation, digital transformation, entrepreneurship, or strategy and want to take on more. Or you might be ready to move into one of these fields.

You don’t have to be a business-school specialist. The program brings business, technology, leadership, design, and societal perspectives together. You learn to turn emerging technologies into products, businesses, and organizational change that are viable and responsible.

What you will learn

You’ll learn to connect business strategy with technology and to lead teams through change. Which modules you take depends on whether you choose the 60, 90, or 120 credit point (CP) variant. Three of the modules you can take:

Digital Marketing & Business Models

  • Develop positioning strategies that set digital offerings apart
  • Apply digital and omnichannel marketing techniques
  • Use generative AI in marketing and business-model work
  • Design business models and test their economic viability with a hypothesis-driven approach

Strategic Technology Management & AI

  • Understand how emerging technologies change products, operations, and organizations
  • Develop strategies for putting AI into practice
  • Evaluate technology, market, and competitor information for strategic decisions
  • Assess the ethical, legal, economic, environmental, and social implications

Entrepreneurial Leadership

  • Build productive, collaborative teams
  • Adapt your leadership approach to different situations and team dynamics
  • Strengthen your self-leadership and personal effectiveness
  • Lead startups, innovation projects, and technology-driven growth

Digital Product Development

  • Work in interdisciplinary teams using the Double Diamond framework
  • Analyze users, markets, competitors, and external factors
  • Define a unique selling proposition (USP) and a user-centered minimum viable product (MVP)
  • Evaluate desirability, feasibility, viability, and sustainability
  • Present your product concept in a structured pitch deck

Design & Social Innovation

Depending on your credit point variant and electives, you can:

  • Explore speculative design and future visions
  • Apply service design and human-centered co-design
  • Work on social innovation and sustainability

Science, Technology & Society

  • Research and write at an academic level
  • Understand digital technology in its legal, political, economic, ethical, and social context
  • Build judgment for responsible decisions
  • Complete an independent master’s thesis

Choose your variant: 60, 90, or 120 CP

Your first degree and your MBA together need to add up to 300 credit points. With 180 credit points from your first degree, you take the 120 CP variant; with 210, the 90 CP variant; with 240, the 60 CP variant. Certified credit points you earned beyond your first degree count too: a bachelor’s with 180 credit points plus an official certificate for 30 credit points makes the 90 CP variant possible. Our admissions team looks at the credit points you’ve already completed and advises you on the variant that fits you best.

Full-time students earn 30 CP per semester, part-time students 15. One CP equals 25 hours of work.

60 CP variant

  • Full-time: 2 semesters (12 months)
  • Part-time: 4 semesters (24 months)
  • Digital Marketing & Business Models; Science, Technology & Society; your master’s thesis; and one 15 CP elective
  • No specialization

90 CP variant

  • Full-time: 3 semesters (18 months)
  • Part-time: 6 semesters (36 months)
  • Digital Marketing & Business Models; Science, Technology & Society; your master’s thesis; Digital Product Development; your choice of Strategic Technology Management or Entrepreneurial Leadership; and one 15 CP elective
  • Specializations: Artificial Intelligence or Entrepreneurship

120 CP variant

  • Full-time: 4 semesters (24 months)
  • Part-time: 8 semesters (48 months)
  • Digital Marketing & Business Models; Science, Technology & Society; your master’s thesis; Digital Product Development; your choice of Strategic Technology Management or Entrepreneurial Leadership; and three 15 CP electives
  • Specializations: Artificial Intelligence, Entrepreneurship, Technology, or Design

Admission requirements

To join the MBA, you need:

  • A first university degree that qualifies you for professional work, such as a bachelor’s degree
  • As a rule, at least one year of qualified professional experience after your first degree
