CODE Success Stories: Langdock
Since CODE was founded in 2017, more than 230 companies have emerged from our university. To showcase this incredible diversity of projects, we are launching a new series featuring the success stories that began right here on our campus. Leading the way is Langdock – currently one of the fastest-growing AI startups in Germany.
The company was founded in 2023 by Lennard Schmidt, Jonas Beisswenger, and Tobias Kemkes. The three friends met while studying at CODE, where Lennard was part of the inaugural class. After his graduation, he launched the business together with his two fellow students - a venture that has since grown into a team of 30 creative minds.
Langdock is an AI platform that enables companies to use Large Language Models (like ChatGPT) securely and in full compliance with data protection regulations. Today, the team focuses primarily on developing AI agents that autonomously handle workflows and automate complex processes.
The numbers speak for themselves: The team recently reached the $15 million ARR (Annual Recurring Revenue) milestone. Decupling their revenue in just a single year highlights the immense relevance of their platform, which is now used by over 4,000 customers – including industry leaders like Merck, Babbel, GetYourGuide, and Personio.
"CODE was my entry point into Berlin’s vast tech ecosystem. The educational model gave me the freedom to work during my studies and to learn and grow in my own way. This exact mentality – just roll up your sleeves and solve things pragmatically – is the DNA of Langdock today. It’s how we ensure that every company can work with AI securely."
- Lennard Schmidt, Co-founder and CEO.
