Frank Thelen: Tech visionary and pioneer of digital education

Frank Thelen, born in Bonn in 1975, embodies precisely the innovative pioneering spirit that we at CODE University of Applied Sciences also want to encourage in our students . As one of the most influential German tech entrepreneurs and investors, he is actively shaping Germany's digital future.

Digital pioneer with entrepreneurial DNA

Thelen's path is characterized by the courage to be independent. He took the plunge into entrepreneurship and founded “Softer Solutions Media” in 1994. This was followed by numerous tech start-ups such as Twisd AG and ip.labs GmbH, which were successfully sold to the famous Fujifilm company in 2008.

Today, as founder of the venture capital company Freigeist Capital, he supports visionary tech start-ups - exactly the kind of companies that are also founded by CODE graduates.

Strong partnership with CODE

Frank Thelen is part of the exclusive circle of over 50 successful startup founders who support CODE University. This connection is no coincidence: we share the vision of a practical, future-oriented tech education in an international environment.

In March 2024, he hosted our CODE founder Thomas Bachem on his podcast „Innovation Pulse“ , where they discussed CODE's revolutionary learning concept, student successes and future plans for the university. Thelen also explains how he appreciates CODE's interdisciplinary approach, which enables students to develop complex digital products independently.
