Tuition fees

At CODE, we want to attract the most motivated and talented – not the most privileged

As a private university, we are not funded by the state. Therefore, we require a financial contribution from our students. The tuition fees for studying at CODE are typically €1,150 per month.

However, we want to ensure that everyone with the talent and motivation to study at CODE can do so – regardless of their financial situation.

That’s why we offer different payment models and additional support options that help you finance your studies.

One example is our "Pay Later Model," in which you only start repaying your tuition fees once you earn a significant income after graduation. If your income falls below a certain minimum threshold, you won’t pay a cent.

On the other hand, if you’re financially thriving after your studies, you’ll never pay more than twice the amount of students who paid upfront. Why? Because we’re not here to profit off you. Our goal is to make CODE a sustainable model for the future – and to use the funds to support the next generation of students.

Our payment models

There are three different ways to pay for your studies at CODE, find all the information you need below. All options are available for all students, no matter where you're from.

Pay while you study

Monthly tuition fees

€1,150 for 3 years

If it's financially possible for you, you can pay the full amount of tuition during the three years, or 36 months, of your studies.

Take your time

Monthly tuition fees

€575 for 6 years

With this model, you can double your repayment period and thus halve your monthly costs. This means that you pay for the three years during and then three years after your studies.

Study now, pay later

Repayment costs

13.2% of your income for 5 years after graduating

Our "Pay Later" model gives students the option to pay the tuition fees after their graduation, which means you don't have to pay anything during your studies. Find more detailed information on this option below.

Do you have any questions?

Working as a student

While CODE is a full-time study program, our learning concept gives students a lot of flexibility, which can be very beneficial if you want to work during your studies. Besides that, from day one at CODE, you gain practical skills that make you stand out when applying for jobs. Our partner network and start-up ecosystem can also help you find a suitable role.

In a recent internal survey, we found out that 72% if the students start working by their 3. semester (if they don’t found their own company). So don't worry about that!

Yes. “BAföG” (German system for governmental loans to students) is designed to help you with your living costs while studying. Because we are a state-recognized university of applied sciences, you are able to file for “BAföG” just like any other student. Keep in mind though, that BAföG is available only to German students and some EU students in special cases.

That will depend on your personal needs, but with a budget of minimum 1200€ per month you should be able to cover rent and other costs of living. Your most important tool will be your notebook computer. It should be relatively new and reasonably equipped for your tasks. Regarding studying materials, CODE’s modules usually use open-source or open-access materials, so these costs are typically not a worry for our students.

There are no guarantees in life, you know that. But we are super confident about your prospects. Some of the biggest tech companies in Germany support us, and are eagerly waiting for you to finish so they can make you an offer that you cannot refuse … we are certain that some of them will not even wait that long. And the reason for that is not only that they are looking for tech talent wherever they can find it. They have been involved in designing our study programs from the very beginning to make sure that you will graduate with the skill set and the competence profile all modern tech companies will look for in the future.

There is no residence facility on campus. However, our team can certainly help you by providing a list of housing companies and websites to assist you in finding accommodation. CODE students are also very active in updating each other with any housing options.

You’ll gain a lot of practical experience during your studies by working on projects. This will look very good on your CV when you apply for working student positions or full time jobs after your studies. We invite our partner companies to Partner Days, where you have the exclusive opportunity to apply for internships, working student positions or your first full time job after your studies!
