CODE, the university for startups, defines new study priorities
Berlin, December 2025 — CODE University of Applied Sciences, one of Germany’s leading universities for digital product development, is expanding its focus towards future-oriented fields. As part of this evolution, the degree programs Bachelor of Arts in Product Management and Bachelor of Arts in Interaction Design have been renamed to Bachelor of Arts in Business Management & Entrepreneurship and Bachelor of Arts in Digital Design & Innovation, respectively.
Eight years after the university’s founding, the new program names reflect CODE’s ongoing development and success. Since its establishment in 2016, CODE has nurtured countless talents who not only design innovative products and services but also build and lead successful companies. The university’s close support of students — from their first prototype to a scalable business — has demonstrated that the existing curricula extend far beyond traditional product management and interaction design.
“The further development and renaming of these two study programs are a logical step to reflect the breadth of our education,” says Prof. Dr. Peter Ruppel, President of CODE. “In both Business Management & Entrepreneurship and Digital Design & Innovation, our students learn not only to master individual disciplines but to think and act holistically. They develop innovative products while shaping the companies of tomorrow. The new names underline this comprehensive perspective.”
Both programs continue to embody CODE’s distinctive practice-oriented and forward‑looking approach to education, integrating the latest developments in product management, digital marketing, entrepreneurial leadership, user experience, design research, and the Internet of Things.
“For us, design is not just about aesthetics, but about understanding people and meeting their needs,” explains Prof. Dr. Martin Knobel, Head of the Digital Design & Innovation program. “By shaping the interactive elements of a product, designers take responsibility for user satisfaction and contribute to building a positive society.”
“Students learn to tackle complex challenges and create impactful digital solutions,” adds Prof. Dr. Florian Grote, Head of the Business Management & Entrepreneurship program. “Our goal is to empower talents who will shape the digital world of tomorrow.”
