Facebook becomes partner of CODE

  • 2 min read

Facebook and the CODE University of Applied Sciences are entering into a partnership to train the digital pioneers of tomorrow.

Of 2,000 applicants from over 25 countries, CODE has chosen 80 students to commence their studies in October in Berlin. Amongst other things, the three Bachelor degrees on offer – Software Engineering, Interaction Design and Product Management – are characterized by a rigorously project-based and competency-oriented approach.

As part of the co-operation, Facebook will sponsor a professorship on artificial intelligence. Furthermore, professors at CODE will develop multi-faceted, practice-oriented projects for the students with Facebook’s support. Facebook’s experts will regularly accompany these projects. Alongside areas such as artificial intelligence, data science, virtual reality and mobility, CODE promotes engagement with societal issues through its Science, Technology and Society Program.

“CODE University is doing important work educating the next generation of students in advanced technological skills. Facebook is thrilled to support their efforts and I’m confident these students will go on to do incredible things – they’ll change our communities, our industries, and the world.” – Sheryl Sandberg, COO Facebook

Thomas Bachem, Founder and Chancellor of CODE is delighted with the new partnership: “Facebook is one of the leading technology companies of our times and was founded by students as a startup. We are certain that our students will benefit hugely from our co-operation with tech experts at Facebook.”
