Digital Design & Innovation Student Projects
At CODE, students learn by doing.
At CODE, we embrace a dynamic, project-based learning concept where students dive into real-world challenges, working in interdisciplinary teams to create innovative solutions. It’s not just about learning - it’s about doing.
To empower our students and set them up for success, we’ve built a partnership program with industry leaders like Porsche and Telekom—connecting students with real-world challenges, hands-on projects, and invaluable professional networks.
Next to partner companies, there are also professor-led and module-based projects that students can join.
A lot of students also work on their own projects, tackling real world problems and following their curiosity.
On this page, you can find a selection of projects by Digital Design & Innovation students to get a better understanding of what project work at CODE looks like. Enjoy!

Anti-Gentrification Station
by Markus Duvenhage
The Anti-Gentrification Toolkit
The Anti-Gentrification Toolkit "is meant to help gentrifiers of Northern Neukölln understand and rectify the externalities of their actions. [...]
Motivated by the same concerns that led me to TRASHWORKS I set out to create a toolkit that challenges the thought of the gentrifying public in Northern Neukölln to hopefully instill a better understanding for their effects on the people around them. Where TRASHWORKS was supposed to illustrate the application of empathy, this project satirically highlights its importance along with some other concepts necessary to help gentrifiers engage with their community with a better understanding for their impact.“

Neuköllnopoly
by Rahel Heile and Luíza Lima Pinto
„Neuköllnopoly is a vivid exploration of the intricate socio-economic dynamics and systemic inequities that define North Neukölln. Rooted in extensive research and meticulous design, this project goes beyond mere gameplay to confront players with the stark realities of gentrification—its layers, complexities, and human impact. The game’s unique approach to design, narrative, and mechanics transforms it from a simple board game into an interactive commentary on urban life, privilege, and systemic inequality.“

The Enchanted Mirror
by Marie Kashi Grobe
„The Enchanted Mirror is a harmonious blend of technology and human-centric design, which boost self- esteem and positive self- image. This AI-infused mirror goes beyond reflection—it interacts, compliments, and assures. Just like the first mirrors transformed self- perception by allowing individuals to see their expressions and uniqueness, the Enchanted Mirror reflects not just faces, but affirms identity and worth.“
Excerpt from „The Enchanted Mirror“ by Marie Kashi Grobe in „ Artificial Intelligence in Design “, an Anthology of Student Works for the Digital Design & Innovation Module Artificial Intelligence in Design.

NOFUTURE! by Aarnav Mahavir Bos
by Aarnav Mahavir Bos
„Navigating uncertainty is challenging enough, what if your struggle was portrayed for all to witness? NOFUTURE! is an experiment in understanding and dealing with uncertainty. Built as a performance tool, NOTFUTURE! is a restless, generative, MIDI utility inspired by the rhythms of Les Trucs, Throbbing Gristle and Das Kinn. Unpredictable groove and abrupt sounds. You cannot rely on repetition and predictability for security anymore.“
Excerpt from „NOFUTURE!“ by Aarnav Mahavir Bos in „ Generate “, an Anthology of Student Works for the Digital Design & Innovation Module Generative Design.
