Tina Papathoma

Learning Science Researcher

Tina is a Learning Scientist. She specialises in researching how people learn in educational and professional settings with the use of technology. Her expertise is in evaluating how learning theories are applied for (professional) learning and development.

She is currently doing qualitative research evaluating the learning concept of CODE (i.e. Project-Based Learning) by looking at the Student, Educator and Coordinator Experience. She was previously the Evaluation lead for Microcredentials at The Open University, UK. Her research focus is on Evaluation of (Online) Learning, Professional Learning and more broadly Technology Enhanced Learning.

Tina holds a PhD from the Open University in the UK with a focus on educators’ perspectives in Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) where she investigated who teaches in MOOCs and how educators learn to teach.
